Author's Guideline

RF Design is a technical magazine written by engineers for engineers. Its mission is to provide engineers practical timely information they need to design state-of-the-art RF and microwave components and sub-systems.

Keeping engineers in mind, each article focuses on current issues and discusses methods to tackle them. And, then based on technology and products developed in-house describes a design example that addresses the issue or issues.

In writing such a feature, the author must ensure that the discussion is technical in nature and is not a marketing pitch for the company products. Also, the article must spell out all acronyms used for the first time. And all equations must be clearly written with all parameters used in the equation well defined.

However, before you start writing the article, you must first submit an abstract to the editor. The editor will review the abstract and then reply with a yes or no. Sometimes the reply will come with a few suggestions to revise or modify the focus of the article before it is accepted.

An abstract is a paragraph that explains in a few sentences what issues are going to be discussed in the article. This is followed by a line or two that describes the technology or solution developed to tackle those problems.

Once the abstract is accepted, the author will proceed to complete the article. RF Design articles are typically 2000 words in length and comprise some 5-7 technical illustrations including tables. The text is written in Microsoft word while illustrations can be in jpeg, tif, or ppt formats. Preference is 300 dpi jpg or ppt formats. Also, text and illustrations must be sent in separate files. We do not prefer embedded illustrations and tables in the body of the text. At the end of the article, provide author(s) bio(s). Author bio includes, title, company name, location, education and experience. All this must be written in less than 100 words.
