Digi International Adds Broadcom Wi-Fi Driver to NET+Works Software Suite Sep 6, 2005 2:05 PM
Digi International has added a driver for the Broadcom AirForce 802.11abg chipset to its NET+Works device networking tool kit. NET+Works is a complete development environment for network enabling embedded devices specifically optimized for the NetSilicon family of 32-bit NET+ARM microprocessors. The addition of WPA and a driver for the Broadcom AirForce chipset makes it easy for embedded designers to use industry-standard Wi-Fi technology to securely IP-enable their devices. The Cardbus/MiniPCI driver for the Broadcom chipsets makes it easy for customers to wirelessly network a diverse range of products, including printers, elevators, surveillance cameras, price checkers and more, using the NET+ARM processors and the NET+Works development environment. The integrated driver lets embedded-applications engineers use the same NET+OS-based applications software for either wired or wireless networking. Similarly, the NET+OS-based applications can run across all of Digi's embedded products including ARM7 and ARM9 processors, Digi Connect and ConnectCore modules, and Digi Connect boxes. Digi's family of embedded products is designed to make device networking easy and provides a seamless migration path across hardware platforms. This reduces design costs by allowing customers to get to market quickly and leverage previous software investment across multiple products.
