CSR Opens Wireless Hardware Design Center in France Sep 6, 2005 2:12 PM
CSR recently opened a new wireless hardware design center in Sophia Antipolis, France. CSR SARL is headed by the design group leader Stephane Boudaud and will employ a team of experienced design engineers to work on hardware projects including the design of UWB (Ultra Wide Band) radios. "We have been planning and working on a very high-speed version of Bluetooth for some time now, and the recent announcement by the Bluetooth SIG that UWB will be added as a higher speed option is very welcome and fits perfectly with the investment we are making in Sophia Antipolis," commented James Collier, technical director and cofounder of CSR. "Sophia Antipolis is the ideal location for CSR SARL given its concentration of advanced technology companies, which attract a highly skilled workforce," explained Stephane Boudaud, design group leader of CSR SARL. "CSR is growing rapidly, and this new design center will allow CSR to retain its substantial competitive lead and continue to develop the best wireless solutions for the market." Since January 2005, CSR has opened a design center in Lund, Sweden, and integrated sites in Detroit; Shenzhen, China; and Bangalore, India, through its acquisitions of Clarity Technologies Inc., and more recently, UbiNetics' software business.
