Air Broadband Communications Inc. announced the Diameter client feature in its PiMAX ACR, an IP mobile access router for WiMAX. Air Broadband introduced the Access Control Router for WiMAX last May at Network+Interop 2005 conference held in Las Vegas. According to Air Broadband, PiMAX ACR is the first of its kind that supports WiBro, mobile WiMAX-like service to be launched early next year in Korea, and plans to support mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e) standard later this year. Key features of PiMAX ACR include IP mobility, multi-vendor antenna (RAS-Radio Access Station) compatibility, wide scalability and per flow/user quality of service.
