Ethertronics' technology deployed with Microtune Oct 1, 2002 12:00 PM
Ethertronics has announced that its M Series embedded antennas have been selected for the MT0750 Bluetooth headset reference design from Microtune Inc. Microtune deployed the Ethertronics embedded antenna technology in a customized Bluetooth solution developed for Skypower Wireless to enable hands-free communications in Skypower's EZtalk headsets and EZclip earsets. Skypower is an international designer and manufacturer of Bluetooth products and modules. Ethertronics' M Series embedded antennas, which combine high performance, isolation and selectivity in an ultra thin “blade” design, offer flexible mounting options on a headset product's printed circuit board (PCB). Ethertronics supported Microtune in the development and testing of the Skypower headset design, which tailored the technology from the two companies for various Skypower product enclosures, while delivering optimum wireless performance, low power consumption, accelerated product design cycles and cost savings. All of Ethertronics' embedded antennas feature proprietary and patented antenna “shaping technology” which controls and re-directs the near-field electromagnetic pattern of the antenna's RF signal. This technology allows for optimal antenna performance by improving signal strength and voice/data quality both inside buildings and in fringe network coverage areas. The technology significantly reduces the energy transmitted towards the user's body.
