Literature Oct 1, 2003 12:00 PM Test and measurement selection guides
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the availability of two new selection guides, the Basic Instruments 2003 Selection Guide and the Digital, Design & Debug Solutions 2003 Selection Guide. Each guide includes selection tables with specifications to help research and development and manufacturing test engineers quickly identify products of interest, the company says. Individual URLs are included for Web navigation, where more detailed product and application information is available. The Basic Instruments 2003 Selection Guide features product families of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, data acquisition, switches, frequency and time interval counters, function/arbitrary waveform generators, power supplies, GPIB cards and converters, test and measurement software, and extended warranty, calibration and engineering services. The Digital, Design & Debug Solutions 2003 Selection Guide focuses on FPGA-based system challenges. The product set includes oscilloscopes with bandwidths ranging from 60 MHz to 6 GHz. Logic analyzers include PC-hosted, standalone, modular logic analysis systems and modules, and probing solutions, as well as products for processor, bus and FPGA support. Information is also available on extended warranty, calibration and engineering services. Investment directory
The Fabless Semiconductor Association announced the publication if its second annual investment directory. The 2003/2004 Investment Directory includes an alphabetical listing and profiles of approximately 180 investment banker and venture capital firms located worldwide. In addition to the alphabetical listing and profiles, the directory segments investment banks by a variety of criteria, including advisory services, offerings, financial solutions to public companies, investment preference and regional investment preference. The 2003/2004 Investment Directory also segments venture capital firms by a number of criteria, including investment preference, regional investment preference and sector focus. The investment banks and venture capital firms selected to be included in the directory were chosen based on their past investments in the fabless sector. The Directory was created as a tool for fabless semiconductor companies seeking new funding. Instructional CD-ROM series
Noble Publishing Corp. announced the shipment of the newest title in its Desktop Instructor series of instructional CD-ROMs, High Frequency Oscillator Design by Randall Rhea. The series consists of 10 sessions with approximately five hours of instruction. It presents a review of the basic principles of oscillator design. Various CAD techniques — including small-signal linear analysis, closed loop linear analysis and electromagnetic simulation of layout effects — are illustrated. The course also covers both the feedback and reflection-port methods of design and analysis. The Noble desktop series is a collection of techniques, theory and best practices for RF to microwave design engineers. The CD-ROM format offers navigational aids, dynamic screen-captures, and audio and video aids. LSNA solutions brochure
Maury Microwave Corp. and NMDG Engineering announced the release of a new four-color brochure on the companies' large-signal network analyzers (LSNAs) and measurement solutions. The LSNA is one of the latest advancement in large-signal network analysis. It was developed by NMDG Engineering and Maury Microwave, using technology licensed to Maury by Agilent Technologies Inc. It combines a unique set of hardware and software tools that calibrate and measure non-linear component characteristics, with mathematical tools for describing and interpreting non-linear behavior of RF devices. According to Maury Microwave, the LSNA is currently the only commercially available solution that provides for accurate and complete measurement of two-port DUT characteristics in large-signal environments where non-linear component behavior may occur.
