Low jitter PECL oscillators for clocking applications
Nov 1, 2000 12:00 PM  RF DESIGN STAFF

M-tron Industries announces the M4R and M5R low jitter PECL oscillators. The devices are designed for Gigabit Ethernet, xDSL, Stratum IV, SONET/SDH and other PECL clocking applications. The M4R (5 VDC) and M5R (3.3 VDC) devices are available in frequencies between 19.440 and 155.520 MHz. The devices use overtone, rather than PLL, to generate the output frequencies providing low jitter of 10 ps, typical. Both devices are available in 9 x 14 mm J-lead ceramic package with single or dual complementary PECL outputs. Stability of ñ20 ppm from 0ø C to 70ø C or ñ25 ppm from -40ø C to +85ø C is available.
