The 1873 B-series connector and 1873 PT cable preparation tool are engineered to provide effective cable-to-connector interface when properly installed. Both new products are designed for 1⅝-inch Cell Reach cables. The 1873 PT cable preparation tool, which provides consistent termination and reduces on-site craft issues, is a two-piece coring tool designed specifically for the 1873 B-series connector. The B-series two-piece connector creates a tight seal to prevent moisture ingress and meets the International Electrotechnical Commission publication 529, IP68 test. Coaxial cable assemblies
Ku-flex is a range of durable microwave coaxial cable assemblies for the Ku-band frequency range (12 GHz to 18 GHz) from Gigatronix. The cable has been developed for 50 Ω applications to 18 GHz where consistent high-performance characteristics, flexibility and low loss are critical. Incorporating a flexible alternative to RG402 (141) and RG405 (086) semi-rigid cables, they remove the requirement for hand or precision bending and forming equipment while still maintaining the durability and performance characteristics commonly associated with semi-rigid cable assemblies. All Ku-flex cable assemblies have a double- screened, silver-covered copper tape and braid construction that provides low passive intermodulation and comparable shielding effectiveness and power handling to that of RG402 and RG405 semi-rigid cables. The cables have a fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) jacket, a PTFE dielectric and silver-plated solid center conductors. Ku-flex 402 cable assemblies have attenuation per meter of 2.10 dB at 18 GHz, while the 405 versions have attenuation per meter of 3.23 dB per meter at 18 GHz. Both assemblies have typical return loss characteristics of better than 20 dB at 18 GHz. Ku-flex microwave cable assemblies are available terminated with gold-plated SMA connectors or tri-alloy-plated N type connectors, both of which are held ex-stock to reduce manufacturing lead-times. Typically, assemblies are available for any length requirement within five to seven days without any minimum order quantities. Dual-band antenna
PCTEL Antenna Products Group Inc. has added a dual-band elevated feed antenna model to its Antenna Specialists brand of land-mobile radio antennas. The ASPDM913U is designed to provide optimal coverage of both cellular and PCS frequencies with 3 dB of gain and without a ground plane. Featuring a 3/8"-24 ferrule stud adaptable to standard mirror bracket mounts, side-body mounts, and shock springs, this antenna is suitable for commercial delivery truck applications using both cellular and PCS networks. Its no-ground-plane, elevated feed design provides 3 dB gain performance for optimal omnidirectional coverage, and its rugged construction easily withstands high vibration conditions in most trucking applications. The Antenna Specialists ASPDM913U no-ground-plane, elevated feed, 3 dB gain antenna is available through the PCTEL Antenna Products Group's network of authorized distributors. Flexible electrical conduits
Electri-Flex Company offers three types of Liquatite flexible electrical conduits with EMI/RFI shielding. These liquid-tight conduits permit traditional wiring solutions in shielding applications. They protect sensitive electronic circuits in applications such as communications, radar and data transmission. All versions are designed to accept industry-standard liquid-tight connectors and to address assembly and grounding. Electri-Flex's Liquatite EMI/RFI shielding conduit is available in three types. Type EMS offers a shielding effectiveness from 126 dB at 1 MHz to nearly 100 dB at 1 GHz with a temperature rating of -55° C to 105° C. EMS features a flexible core constructed of a helically wound, interlocked strip of bronze. An all-temperature PVC jacket is extruded over the core, resulting in a sealed, waterproof raceway when assembled with liquid-tight fittings. Type LAS, UL-listed, is a flexible steel conduit with a galvanized steel core, over which a tinned copper shielding braid is applied. The outer jacket is flexible PVC with a temperature rating of -20° C to 60° C with a shielding effectiveness from 126 dB at 1 MHz to 66 dB at 1 GHz. Type EMSP is a hybrid of LAS and EMS, but gets further screening protection from a tinned copper shielding braid under the flexible jacket. With the same working temperatures as EMS, EMSP's shielding effectiveness ranges from 126 dB at 1 MHz to 120 dB at 1 GHz. Rugged coaxial attenuators
