PeerApp and Delphi partner Jun 1, 2006 12:00 PM
U.S.-based PeerApp, a provider of protocol-based bandwidth solutions, and Delphi Technology Co., the Thailand-based system integrator, have established a partnership to distribute PeerApp's UltraBand 2000T in Thailand. UltraBand 2000T is an advanced technology that cuts Internet bandwidth needed for peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic by up to 70%. Delphi Technology has installed PeerApp's UltraBand 2000T with True Internet, Thailand's leading ISP. Parent company, True Corporation, provides more than 80% of the broadband, cable TV, fixed line and mobile communication services in Thailand's rapidly expanding and convergent telecommunications market. “UltraBand 2000T will benefit Internet service providers (ISPs) and multiple system operators (MSOs) throughout Southeast Asia, where bandwidth is in short supply and costly,” stated Krisada Cheevamongkol, managing director of Delphi Technology Co. Employing PeerApp's solution, Delphi has enabled True Internet to cut its P2P bandwidth requirements by 60%, realizing more than 40% savings for True's entire bandwidth costs. UltraBand 2000T places P2P bandwidth capacity under True's control, eliminating the need to lease additional bandwidth at market rates. In addition to managing the influx of P2P traffic and reducing the cost of P2P bandwidth, UltraBand 2000T gives ISPs greater ability to manage peak and seasonal P2P traffic and prepare for future P2P traffic growth. PeerApp's UltraBand 2000T is a scalable, multigigabit, carrier-grade P2P bandwidth solution. UltraBand 2000T works with all major P2P protocols, and is transparent to subscribers during both their P2P & non-P2P experiences.
