Ceramic 2 way power splitter

Mini-Circuits Inc. introduced its new SCN series of ceramic 2 way-degree power splitters. The devices operate in the 800 MHz to 2700 MHz frequency range and measure 0.12 inches × 0.06 inches. The new splitters handling more than 20 watts, with insertion loss of 0.4 dB typical, high isolation of 22 dB typical, and is ideal for PCS, DECT, WLAN, GSM, GPS, and ISM applications, the company says. Its amplitude unbalance is 0.1 dB typical, and phase unbalance of 1.0 degree typical. Mini-Circuits has the new power splitters in stock, priced from $2.50 each for 10 to 49 unit orders.

IF-to-baseband diversity receiver

Analog Devices Inc. introduced its integrated IF-to-baseband diversity receiver for GSM/EDGE wireless base stations. Combining the functionality of seven components on a single chip, this new receiver enables base station designers to meet strict EDGE performance requirements at 50 percent of the cost of existing solutions, the company says.

The AD6650 replaces five active components and two SAW filters in existing solutions, reducing both board size and test costs, the company says. An on-chip synthesizer with an integrated VCO drives the I&Q demodulator. The AD6650 can accommodate IF input frequencies from 70 MHz to 300 MHz, and features a linear signal range of more than 106 dB and a dynamic range of more than 110 dB. The AD6650 is sampling now and will be in full production in the fall of 2003. It is available in 121-pin plastic ball-grid array (BGA) packaging priced at $20.00 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities.

GPS/Mobile combination antenna

Maxrad Inc. announced a brand new GPS/mobile combination antenna series as part of its Max-Matics GPS product selection for telematics. The new GPS+ antenna housing comprises a fully enclosed high-gain GPS antenna and an M-type mobile mount compatible with any of Maxrad's mobile antennas in VHF, UHF, 700 MHz to 800 MHz, 900 MHz, PCS and 2.4 GHz frequencies.

The new GPS+ series comprises an RTV sealed, 27 dB GPS antenna that provides an out-of-band rejection of at least 8 dBc at ±30 MHz, 22 dBc at -50 MHz (16 dBc at +50 dBc), and 42 dBc at -100 MHz (27 dBc at +100 MHz). It is enclosed in a UV-stable polycarbonate housing and is terminated with 17-feet of RG174 cable. The GPS+ also includes a waterproof brass mount compatible with any Maxrad mobile antenna with an M mount interface. The antenna includes a trunk lid version, a permanent stud mount version, a mirror mount version and a magnet mount version, all available in a textured black or white finish.
