Single test instrument targets wireless LAN Aug 1, 2004 12:00 PM
To support the high-volume manufacture of 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN (WLAN) products, San Jose, Calif.-based LitePoint Corp. has developed an advanced wireless test instrument called IQflex. According to LitePoint, IQflex is the first single-instrument the WLAN manufacturing test system that breaks the cost barrier. IQflex is a derivative of the company's IQview 802.11a/b/g WLAN test solution. Like IQview, IQflex is a wide-bandwidth device incorporating the capabilities of a vector signal analyzer (VSA), vector signal generator (VSG), spectrum analyzer, and power meter into a single high-performance instrument. LitePoint's WLAN test solutions measure such advanced transmitter performance metrics as error vector magnitude (EVM) and phase noise. To gauge receiver performance, these test products independently produce accurate signals. Both IQflex and IQview provide accurate, consistent measurements of 802.11a/b/g RF transmit and receive performance that tighten test limits and reduce product retest.
