Altair Engineering has announced that Smiths Aerospace UK, has selected the Altair HyperWorks CAE technology suite to support the development and structural analysis of its aircraft landing systems and components.

Smiths selected HyperWorks to improve its engineering department's finite element modeling and visualization efficiency with Altair HyperMesh and plans to incorporate other HyperWorks tools, including HyperMorph and OptiStruct for interactive model morphing and structural optimization.

Altair HyperMesh is a finite element pre- and post-processor for popular finite element solvers. It allows engineers to analyze product design performance in a highly interactive and visual environment.
