Hong Kong's Broadband Network Systems Ltd. (BNS) and Salt Lake City, Utah-based Data Technology International have entered into a strategic partnership to explore opportunities in the rapidly expanding Asia Pacific mobile Internet and TV entertainment markets. With its dynamically expanding consumer base and rapid-growth automobile and public transportation markets, Asia presents tremendous expansion opportunities for mobile Internet and satellite TV products.

Data Tech was formed specifically to develop and market mobile Internet antenna products to enable two-way, real-time IP, video, voice, audio and data communications for specialty consumer and enterprise applications. Data Tech is part of Winegard Company, a U.S. manufacturer of TV and radio reception products for about 50 years. The first products targeted for Asia include a low-profile DBS/TV satellite antenna and a nomadic mobile Internet antenna designed for various satellite send and receive platforms.BNS will be conducting trials with these products with major public transportation operators in China.

“Mobile Internet technology is all about the freedom and affordability of high-speed communications — anytime, anywhere,” says Data Tech's president, Reed Brown. “People are constantly on the go and wanting access to information. Asia is the fastest growing automobile market in the world, and we see enormous opportunities for our products.”

In addition to product distribution, the partnership agreement will also involve jointly conducted market research and technology deployment.
