USB Implementers Forum Jul 1, 2006 12:00 PM
The USB Implementers Forum (www.usb.org), with support from Alereon, Intel, Microsoft, Philips and Realtek, has successfully demonstrated the first five-way, multivendor interoperable demo based on the certified wireless USB technology. The USB-IF illustrated interoperability between multiple MACs and multiple PHYs by showing a laptop with an Intel host adapter using an Alereon PHY. It successfully transferred high-definition video from a Philips (www.semiconductors.philips.com) wireless semiconductor solution with Realtek PHY that emulated a hard disk. This was all demonstrated on Windows XP using supporting drivers based on Certified Wireless USB developed by Microsoft.
