VIA Technologies Inc. announced that it has signed an agreement with Ericsson to license their Bluetooth IP. This will give VIA access to the most commercially proven Bluetooth Radio and Baseband Cores for use across a wide variety of PC based and mobile applications.

Located in Lund, Sweden, Ericsson Technology Licensing AB specializes in Bluetooth design solutions and was the first company to put Bluetooth consumer products into mass production.

This agreement gives VIA access to Ericsson's proven Bluetooth radio and baseband cores, as well as their Bluetooth host and embedded Stack software.
