Big display oscilloscopes feature search and analysis capability Oct 1, 2006 12:00 PM
To bring new capabilities to its big display/small footprint oscilloscope models introduced early this year, LeCroy Corporation. has added new features to the WaveRunner Xi and WaveSurfer Xs product lines. Besides offering up to 2 GHz of bandwidth, these models include an advanced search and analysis feature (WaveScan), that provides the ability to locate problems faster by going beyond hardware triggering, and integrating advanced algorithms to continuously scan for unusual behaviors. It uses up to 20 different search modes such as pulse width, frequency, rise time, runt, duty cycle and setup/hold, to provide advanced views of unusual system behaviors. It offers the ability to locate an unusual event in a single capture or scan for an event in many acquisitions over a long period of time. WaveRunner Xi available in a four-channel 1 GHz model (Wave-Runner 104Xi) and a 2 GHz model (WaveRunner 204Xi). The 204Xi is the only 2 GHz oscilloscope available in a big display/small footprint form factor, claimed LeCroy. Sampling rates for both are 5 Gsps on four channels, interleaved to 10 Gsps. Likewise, the new WaveSurfer 104Xs increases the WaveSurfer product line to a full 1 GHz of bandwidth, with sample rate of 2.5 Gsps on four channels (5 Gsps interleaved) on the 104Xs. Consequently, the WaveSurfer Xs family encompasses models from 400 MHz to 1 GHz, with the 400 and 600 MHz models available in 2- and 4-channel versions. The 1 GHz model is available in four-channel units only. In addition, the company is introducing accessories to the Wave-Runner Xi and WaveSurfer Xs lines. LeCroy has announced a family of high impedance single-ended active voltage probes featuring high input resistance of 1 M and low input capacitance of 0.9 pF. The two active probes, ZS1500 (1.5 GHz) and ZS1000 (1 GHz) maintain full system bandwidth at the probe tip. To further enhance the capabilities of the new oscilloscopes to debug embedded systems, LeCroy has introduced serial trigger and decode options (I For more information, visit www.lecroy.com.
