Amplifier exhibits a 2.5 dB noise figure from 3.5 to 7 GHz
Dec 12, 2007 1:48 PM

Hittite Microwave Corporation has introduced a hermetically packaged SMT GaAs MMIC low-noise amplifier for use in microwave radio, military and space applications from 3.5 GHz to 7 GHz.

The HMC392LH5 is a hermetic SMT LNA that provides 15 dB of gain, while exhibiting a noise figure of 2.5 dB, over the frequency range of 3.5 GHz to 7 GHz. The amplifier provides an output IP3 performance of +24 dBm as well as an output P1dB of +14 dBm. In addition to the flexibility of selecting six possible bias options that enable the user to choose the desired bias point and output power, the amplifier's I/Os are internally matched to 50 Ohms and dc blocked for enhanced wideband performance.

The HMC392LH5 MMIC LNA is housed in a hermetic RoHS compliant, 5 mm x 5 mm leadless SMT package and consumes 43 mA from a single +5 V supply.

Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock.
