DRS Technologies has received orders valued at approximately $37 million to manufacture tactical quiet generators (TQG) from the U.S. Army’s Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) at Fort Monmouth, NJ. To fulfill this contract, DRS will manufacture TQGs in 3 kW, 5 kW, 10 kW and 15 kW versions and deliver them to various U.S. Army and Marine Corps units.

Manufacture will be accomplished by the company’s DRS Fermont unit in Bridgeport, Conn. The manufacturing and delivery of the TQGs will start immediately, with completion expected by September 2008.

The company’s family of TQGs is engineered and manufactured to meet U.S. military requirements for an efficient, rugged and portable source of electrical power.

The company’s DRS Fermont unit, formerly known as International Fermont in Ramapo, NY; has been a manufacturer of military generator sets since 1944.
