Backplane enables upgrade to the latest VITA standards
Jun 13, 2007 2:45 PM

Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions has introduced its VITA 41 VME switched serial (VXS) switch fabric backplane for military and aerospace applications. The VXS backplane enables users to integrate a cost-effective, high-performance upgrade to the latest VITA standards while still supporting the legacy capability of the VME64x bus structure.

Addressing the needs of users deploying custom boards for specialized applications, the retrofit capabilities of this backplane help achieve the fastest data transfer rates without the cost of adopting VPX technology. The backplane can be customized in multiple configurations for unique embedded, development, testing and measurement applications.

Based in Brockton, Mass., Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions is a leader in system architecture for computing platforms. The company develops solutions for the military, industrial and telecom industries and offers core product lines in electronic packaging, serial I/O and system expansion. All products are manufactured in the United States and comply with VITA, PICMG and PCI-SIG standards.
