DoD to be supplied with portable satellite terminals

Arrowhead Global Solutions, a provider of integrated telecommunications solutions, has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for portable satellite communications terminals by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in Charleston, S.C.

Arrowhead is one of eight companies selected for the program to provide equipment and services designed to increase the effectiveness of communications for U.S. and coalition forces. The period of performance includes a one-year base and four one-year option periods. Work on the SPAWAR contract will begin immediately and, providing all options are exercised, the contract will continue until July 2011. The total value of all delivery orders awarded over the life of the contract is estimated to be $52.6 million.

Arrowhead was authorized to provide satellite communications equipment in all four specified areas:

  1. Deployable multi-satellite terminals.
  2. Deployable multi-satellite terminals.
  3. Satellite simulators.
  4. Integrated generator/environmental control units.

Arrowhead is a supplier of satellite and terrestrial telecommunications, professional services, server-based communication networks and integrated information technology solutions.
