X-band, downconverter delivers improved performance for military and commercial antenna applications
Feb 22, 2005 1:24 PM

Tampa Microwave Lab has introduced a low noise block (LNB) downconverter that has been designed to meet the needs of the X-band SATCOM market. Also known as the LNB-6300-50-112A, it downconverts the X-band downlink frequencies of 7.27 GHz to 7.75 GHz to an output frequency of 950 MHz to 1450 MHz thereby offering system operators and designers a cost-efficient solution with low noise and high reliability.

Performance specifications include a conversion gain of 50 dB nominal and a flatness of ± 0.5 dB over 40 MHz, plus a typical noise figure of 0.9 dB and 7 dB over 40 MHz. Optional isolators for improved VSWR, with a 0.1dB increase in noise figure are available and the unit can be provided with an internal reference—or an external reference multiplexed on the IF. Power requirements are +15 Vdc to +18 Vdc at 500 mA maximum, via the output connector.
