Tiny discrete Schottky and ESD diodes unveiled
Apr 26, 2006 5:11 PM

In response to the growing requirements for miniaturized discrete component devices, ON Semiconductor has introduced three Schottky and three ESD diodes housed in 1.4 mm x 0.6 mm x 0.5 mm SOD-723 packages.

The devices offered in the SOD-723 package include Schottkys that exhibit very low forward voltage drop (Vf) and low reverse leakage current (Ir). The ESD diodes are said to offer the highest level of ESD protection available in a package with dimensions of 1.4 mm x 0.6 mm x 0.5 mm. Compared to the SOD-323 package, the SOD-723 brings about a 73% reduction in footprint and a 50% reduction in height. When compared with the previous generation SOD-523 package, the SOD-723 delivers a 13% footprint reduction and a 28% reduction in height. The devices are priced between $.023 and $.035 in quantities of 10,000 units.
