Orbit International has received an amendment to a previously announced long-term agreement (LTA) to support the Common Transponder Program. The revised agreement increases the quantities from 500 to 1000 units for the manufacture and supply of its remote control units (RCU) to support U.S. Navy and U.S. Army program requirements through December 2009.

The latest generation of RCUs includes advanced software to support IFF program requirements for enhanced traffic alert, and collision avoidance system (ETCAS), together with mode S, mode 5, taffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) software capabilities.

Simultaneous with the receipt of the revised LTA, the company received a contract award for 182 RCUs valued at approximately $1 million. Deliveries under this contract are expected to begin in the third quarter and continue through the fourth quarter.

Orbit International Corp., through its electronics group, is engaged in the manufacture of customized electronic components and subsystems for military and nonmilitary government applications at its production facilities in Hauppauge, New York and Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Its Behlman military division designs and manufactures power units and electronic products for measurement and display.
