Multibillion, multiple-award for information technology program for U.S. Army Mar 28, 2007 11:57 AM
GTSI Corp. has announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a prime contract to provide a range of information technology (IT) equipment and solutions. The program covers enterprise hardware including servers, storage, computers and networking equipment — as well as related integration, maintenance, and warranty services. The contract, awarded to six companies, is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth approximately $5 billion to all winners over a five-year period (a three year base and two, one-year options). The contract is open to the Army, Department of Defense (DoD), all federal agencies, and authorized government contractors supporting these agencies. GTSI will continue to provide a wide range of technology solutions to equip and enhance the Army's net-operations and net-centric communications capabilities. By developing interoperability for all levels of the Army enterprise, GTSI will support the delivery of a world-class technology architecture so that homefront operations and the warfighter have the same range of technology options available. The company has its headquarters in Chantilly, Va.
