KVH Industries has received a $1.1 million order for its DSP-3000 fiber optic gyros (FOGs) from a U.S. military customer. KVH's compact, highly accurate FOGs will be used for real-time image synchronization and stabilization in military training simulator systems. Shipments for this order are expected to be completed in the near-term.
With their all-fiber design and proprietary DSP technology, KVH's DSP-3000 FOGs offer high reliability and high accuracy, in addition to vibration, shock, and acceleration survivability. KVH's fiber optic guidance and sensor systems are used in an array of commercial and defense-related stabilization, navigation, autonomous vehicle, and precision guidance applications. For example, two KVH DSP-3000 FOGs are installed in each of the U.S. Army's Common Remotely Operated Weapon Stations (CROWS) systems.
