Mimix Broadband has introduced a 5V InGaP HBT (GaAs-based bipolar transistor) amplifier that combines medium power and high gain with low power consumption. This versatile, multi-purpose amplifier, identified as the CGB8001-SC, consumes 100 mA of current and covers DC to 2.8-GHz with 27 dBm P1dB and 15.5 dB gain at 2.1 GHz.

Designed for 5V applications, the CGB8001-SC is a medium power amplifier that is suitable for high linearity transmit, receive and IF applications, including CATV, 3G, WiBro and WiMAX. The low current consumption and high linear performance under complex modulation makes the CGB8001-SC well suited for output-stage, multi-carrier applications. The amplifier is offered in an industry standard, RoHS compliant, SOT-89 package and includes an integrated active bias circuit and ESD protection, significantly enhancing quality, reliability and ruggedness.

In addition, the integrated active bias circuit minimizes performance variation over temperature and enables direct operation from +5V supply, eliminating the need for an external dropping resistor.

Production quantities and engineering samples are available from stock.
