Gain block MMIC delivers up to +24 dBm output power
Jan 10, 2005 6:31 PM

Hittite Microwave has introduced a versatile gain block, Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) amplifier covering dc to 5 GHz. Designated as the HMC482ST89, this 50 Ohm amplifier provides 19 dB of gain, and can be configured in cascade in various RF and IF applications. With +22 dBm output at 1 dB compression (P1dB) and +36 dBm-output, third-order intercept at 1 GHz (IP3); the HMC482ST89 can be employed as a local oscillator, buffer amplifier, or as a power amplifier pre-driver.

This MMIC amplifier requires a +6 V power source delivering 110 mA. It is enclosed in an industry-standard SOT89 surface-mount package. Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock and can be ordered on line.
