New RF power meter is smaller, lower in price Jun 25, 2008 3:19 PM
Boonton Electronics has introduced its new 4540 RF Power Meter series. By incorporating advanced technology from its 4500B, the company designed a smaller, lower-priced power meter to address a wide range of customer needs and applications. The 4540 with its prominent, large display, is well suited for capturing, displaying and analyzing RF signals in both the time and statistical domains. While the pre-programmed settings of the 4540 series cover the important measurement settings required for different technologies, customers will appreciate the auto setup mode. In this mode, the best possible measurement settings for any input signals are automatically detected and applied. Users who prefer numeric readings will also appreciate the flexibility of the new 4540 series for it will enable them to select and to arbitrarily display more than 30 different measurement parameters per channel. A time resolution of 200 picoseconds enables users to perform detailed analysis of any trace. While the 4540 series comes with a built-in calibrator, it can also be connected to an external calibration source. Measurements can be triggered in a variety of ways via any of the channel inputs or through a related event via an external trigger input. The 4540 series comes with GPIB, USB, Ethernet (LAN) communication interfaces and provides for the connection of an external VGA monitor.
