EM tool developer takes advantage of AWR’s proprietary Xmodels Jul 21, 2005 3:37 PM
Sonnet Software, Inc., a supplier of high-frequency electromagnetic (EM) simulation software, has revealed its plan to exploit Applied Wave Research, Inc.'s (AWR) open access to proprietary Xmodels technology. AWR’s Xmodels are a group of discontinuity models that use the results of full-wave EM solutions of the parameterized discontinuity to estimate the electrical performance of the discontinuity. These Xmodels provide designers with the most accurate discontinuity models at a computational speed adequate for tuning, optimization, and yield analysis. Using AWR’s EM Socket open-standard interface, circuit designers can now perform EM analysis using SONNET Suites Professional for the first set of Xmodels available within the AWR Microwave Office circuit design software suite. "AWR and Sonnet participated in a panel discussion on the importance of EDA tool integration at the 2005 International Microwave Symposium last month,” said James C.
