U.S., Australian partnership to pursue North American antenna business Dec 15, 2005 2:04 PM
Cleveland, Ohio-based Bird Technologies Group has announced an exclusive partnership with Sydney, Australia-based RF Industries to pursue base station antenna sales opportunities in the North American marketplace. The partners have teamed up to target the North American mobile radio market with a range of high-performance base station antennas. RFI manufactures leading-edge low PIM (passive intermodulation) base station antennas to cater to the latest site management requirements for digital mobile radio in the industrial and homeland security/public safety market. Bird will take responsibility for marketing and sales of the RFI base station antenna products in the world's largest market for mobile radio systems. RFI will engineer, configure and manufacture the latest in low PIM-rated base station antenna offerings. Bird CEO Mark Johnson commented, "The TX RX Systems Division of Bird Technologies Group serves the most mission-critical public safety customers in the North American market. The excellent record of RFI in their local markets was a real consideration for us before taking this step to bring their products to the U.S. market. Bird and RFI have had a successful product/project relationship over a 20-year period, and this most recent collaboration is a logical extension of our continuing efforts to reliably support critical public safety needs." Managing Director of RFI Steve Jaques stated "RFI has developed, specifically for digital mobile radio applications, a leading edge range of base station antennas. Bringing these to the North American marketplace with Bird and TX RX Systems, our long term partners in the Asia Pacific markets, allows us to offer comprehensive end-to-end antenna and combining system solutions to the largest and most demanding market in the world."
