Mini-mouse goes Bluetooth for computing on the go Nov 4, 2004 3:37 PM
For computing on the go and to enable road warriors to work wirelessly, IOGEAR has unwrapped its rechargeable Bluetooth mini-mouse. Offering greater flexibility and functionality, the Bluetooth technology allows for use up to 66 feet away from the computer, making it a practical tool for presentations. The PC/Mac-compatible Bluetooth mini-mouse's small, slim design saves space in laptop bags and in the workspace. The device comes equipped with a unique on/off switch to prolong battery life and a charger cable that allows the mouse to be charged through any USB computer port. Unlike most chargers for wireless mice, you can use this mini-mouse while charging the battery. Offering greater compatibility, the mouse does not require an additional receiver for use with Bluetooth-enabled systems. Ideal for users in need of precision computing, the device offers 800-dpi resolution, twice the accuracy of standard mice. The compact, ergonomic design and optical sensor offer comfortable use on most surfaces, without the need for a mouse pad. "Often presenters find themselves confined by wires or short range wireless technology. With the Bluetooth enabled mini-mouse, users can control a presentation from anywhere in the boardroom," said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR. "Also, not having to worry about tangled wires or dead batteries saves business travelers time and energy. The new mini-mouse combines the convenience of the original mini-mouse RF, with the increased distance of Bluetooth technology, creating the perfect tool for today's mobile worker." The Bluetooth mini-mouse is compatible with Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, ME and XP operating systems, as well as Mac OS X or later. The mouse is USB and Plug-n-Play ready. It comes with a carrying case, USB battery charger cable, AAA rechargeable batteries and USB extension cable.
