RF and mixed-signal CMOS ICs supplier Peregrine Semiconductor Corp. has announced the promotion of its director of marketing Rodd Novak to vice president of marketing. In this new role, Novak assumes responsibility for design and execution of global product marketing strategy and directs the company's strategic business development activities. He also leads an enhanced marketing team in product line management, positioning, and worldwide marketing communications.

Since joining Peregrine in 2002 as director of marketing, Novak has been integral in the company's focus toward penetrating the RF wireless and broadband markets with its products.

"With its successful legacy in the demanding military and space markets, Peregrine is now penetrating the commercial RF market, enabling a dramatic shift in the way RF applications are designed," commented Novak. "Customers, existing and new, can now realize the full performance potential of their designs with Peregrine's proprietary UltraCMOS technology on board. It's an exciting time for the industry and for Peregrine."

"We are very pleased that Rodd joins the executive management team," said Jim Cable, Peregrine president and CEO. "Rodd's experience further extends the company's deep bench leadership and allows us to bolster strategic initiatives. His creativity, insight and intellect are among his greatest strengths, and his grasp on developing customer relationships through marketing in the technology industry are exceptional."

Prior to joining Peregrine, Novak served as corporate marketing manager for CTS Corp. He began his career as an electrical engineer with Westinghouse Corp. and later moved into a marketing role with the commercial business unit of its subsidiary, Xetron Corp.
