TechnoConcepts expands design team to accelerate commercialization of TSR Nov 3, 2005 2:13 PM
Strengthening its design team to accelerate the forthcoming production of its patented true software radio (TSR) chip technology, TechnoConcepts has announced the addition of 12 new staff members who bring more than 167 years of total experience in communications and networking chip design. “This past year we have expended considerable time and energy developing business opportunities for our technology, and we are now ready to bring the TSR technology into production in connection with our existing licensing agreements in China as well as other business opportunities in progress in South Korea and the United States,” said Antonio Turgeon, chairman of TechnoConcepts. “This team has significant technical experience that includes both mobile phone and data communications that will cover the broad spectrum of the current applications for this technology,” he explained. The new staff includes engineers that have worked for such industry leaders as Nokia, Alcatel, Broadcom, and Nortel. They have designed both wireless and wireline network ASICs and successfully released them to production in state-of-the-art foundry processes. Of the 12 design team members, two bring in excess of 25 years’ experience each, while the most junior member has seven years’ experience. Overall, the average duration of experience for this team is 13.9 years. According to Turgeon, “We believe that the groundwork expended in demonstrating the capabilities of the technology will now be translated into actual production, which will translate into future revenue for the company. We are delighted to welcome the team on board.”
