Agilent Aids Altair On WiMAX Development
Oct 2, 2008 6:09 PM

Agilent Technologies and Altair Semiconductor will collaborate to accelerate the development of mobile WiMAX devices based on the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standard. The companies plan to optimize the calibration and verification of Altair's model ALT2150 mobile WiMAX chipset using Agilent's Wireless Networking Test Set. As a result, handheld-device manufacturers implementing Altair's Mobile WiMAX chipset will be able to quickly and efficiently test and verify their mobile WiMAX devices. Altair's model ALT2150 is a low-power baseband processor with 5 Mb/s download capability but only 100 mW power consumption. The Agilent N8300A is a wireless networking test set and OFDMA measurement application software, forming a complete one-box transmitter and receiver test solution for mobile WiMAX devices.
