Bel Fuse joins MoCA alliance

Bel Fuse, a designer and manufacturer of magnetic‑based solutions for high-speed networking and computing applications, has announced its membership in the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA). Consequently, Bel is developing a series of MoCA‑compliant RF diplexers and related devices for incorporation inside MoCA products and at the point of entry of MoCA-enabled homes. The new Bel components will incorporate MoCA technology, enabling homeowners to enjoy high-definition video, voice and data between TVs, set‑top boxes, DVRs, game boxes, WiFi repeaters and PCs on existing in‑home coaxial wiring and splitters. According to Bel, its components are moreover engineered to meet or exceed the high quality required for broadband entertainment and MoCA in the home.

Lee Hancock, product manager for Bel's broadband and telecom products stated, "Joining MoCA and developing diplexers around the MoCA standard is a significant aspect of Bel's strategic plans for growth within the broadband home network market. We're focused on the revenue potential of these products and anticipate that, with this exciting new initiative, we're ideally positioned to become a major player in this burgeoning arena."
