Spread-spectrum radio developer FreeWave Technologies has marked 15 years in business. The companies secure data radio systems are used by some of the world's largest defense contractors, oil and gas companies, city and county municipalities, and industrial manufacturers. The company has solved some difficult problems with its radio designs. As company spokesman, Colin Lippincott, explains: "We have engineered some amazing things, but, it's about building and delivering what our customers and partners really need that counts. FreeWave's data radios are based on frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum (FHSS) technology. The company provides 100-percent backwards compatibility with its earlier products.
