The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) released its latest financial report on the health of the fabless and foundry semiconductor industries and found that revenues showed a 12-percent growth in year over year sales from the previous year's sales. For the GSA's calendar year, second-quarter (CYQ2) 2008 report, fabless semiconductor revenue totaled $13.9 billion for the period, about 21 percent of the period's total semiconductor sales. The report lists the top 10 fabless companies by their revenues, including Qualcomm, Broadcom, Xilinx, AvagoTechnologies, and Altera. The report and accompanying downloadable Excel spreadsheet with more than 11,000 financial data points are available complimentary to GSA members. For non-members, the latest issue of the report is priced at $300.
