IEEE Radio Conference Convenes In Cannes, France Jul 23, 2008 5:01 PM
The 19th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor Radio Communications (PIMRC) is scheduled this coming September 15-18, 2008 in a location that may turn work into play: Cannes, France. Set for the Palais de Festivals in Cannes, the conference carries the theme of "Sensing the Future" and is hosted by the IEEE Communications Society and the French La Société de l'Electricité et de l'Electronique (SEE). The event, which is expected to draw more than 500 telecommunications professionals (in spite of the location!), offers more than 40 technical sessions on the latest research, technological advances and regulatory issues surrounding the international personal, indoor and mobile radio communications field. The keynote presentation will be made by Didier Lombard, CEO of the France Telecom Group, on "Challenges of an Integrated Operator." David Goodman, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New York's Polytechnic University, will also discuss "Researching the Future" in his keynote address.
