Modelithics Expands MW Office Model Library Oct 15, 2008 1:24 PM
High-frequency modeling specialist Modelithics has released an enhanced version of their nonlinear model collection for the AWR Microwave Office suite of computer-aided-engineering (CAE) software tools from Applied Wave Research (AWR). The Modelithics NLT LibraryTM consists of extremely accurate nonlinear and noise models for devices from a wide range of semiconductor manufacturers. The NLT Library provides models that enable Microwave Office users to create broadband, high-power designs with the appropriate transistors while studying such factors as temperature-dependent effects on performance. As Dr. Mike Heimlich, the Microwave Office Product Manager for AWR, explains, "Typical high-performance designs require simulation including multiple, higher-order harmonics, at and beyond the resonant frequency of the packaged device. Modelithics provides this with their NLT Model Library in a way that is not only accurate but also inherently easy to use within the AWR Design Environment." The Version 3.0 upgrade to the Modelithics NLT Library adds several new models, representing MESFET, BJT and HEMT devices from Avago, Eudyna, Excelics, Hexawave, Mitsubishi, Mimix, MWT, and NEC, along with two new high-power gallium-nitride (GaN) high-electron-mobility-transistor (HEMT) models. The upgrade will be forwarded free of charge to all customers currently under a Modelithics Platinum Maintenance contract for the NLT Library or The Modelithics Library Complete for AWR.
