Frequency Multiplier Yields 4 To 8 GHz
Dec 22, 2008 1:07 PM

Crystek Microwave has introduced a new line of frequency multipliers, the Crystek Pocket Passive Doubler (CPPD) series, supplied in a rugged metal housing with SMA connectors. As an example, model CPPD-0.85-2 accepts input signals from 0.85 to 2.0 GHz produces output signals from 1.7 to 4.0 GHz. A higher-frequency unit, model CPPD-2-4, transforms input signals from 2 to 4 GHz to output signals from 4 to 8 GHz. They are rated for input drive levels of +10 to +20 dBm with typical conversion loss of 15 dB for the lower-frequency unit and 13-dB for the 2-to-4-GHz-input model. The isolation for both model is typically 33 dB.
