Logarithmic detector/controller covers 50 to 4000 MHz frequency range
Aug 16, 2006 10:16 AM

Hittite Microwave Corp. has readied an unprecedented logarithmic detector/controller product within the company’s new power detector line. The HMC600LP4 (E) is designed for RF power measurement and control in cellular/3G, telematic, WiMAX and WiBro applications over the 50 MHz to 4 GHz frequency range.

The HMC600LP4(E) logarithmic detector/controller is fabricated in a SiGe BiCMOS process and converts RF signals at its differential input to a proportional output DC voltage. The HMC600LP4 (E) delivers a high ±3 dB dynamic range of up to 75 dB, with accuracy and temperature stability from 50 MHz to 4000 MHz. In logarithmic detection mode, the HMC600LP4(E) provides a nominal logarithmic slope of 19 mV/dB . The RF input is internally matched to 50 Ohms, and the device will operate with a supply voltage range of + 2.7 V to +5.5 V, consuming only 30 mA.

Samples and evaluation printed-circuit boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock.
