VCTCXO Fits in 3.2 x 2.5 mm Package Nov 20, 2008 12:24 PM
Suitable for WiMAX devices requiring tight space, the NT3225SA series of surface-mount voltage-controlled, temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (VCTCXOs) provide frequencies from 19.2 to 40.0 GHz in a package measuring just 3.2 x 2.5 x 0.9 mm. The frequency stability is within 3 PPM at a control voltage of +1.5 VDC and temperatures from -10 to +70 degrees centigrade. The short-term stability is within 0.010 PPM/s over the same temperature range, with long-term stability within 0.2 PPM at +25 degrees centigrade when measured after six hours operation. The single-sideband (SSB) phase noise is typically -58 dBc/Hz offset 1 Hz from the carrier. The oscillators draw 2 mA maximum current from a +3.3-VDC supply. As Mike Walczak, President of NDK America, notes: "This VCTCXO is the latest frequency solution NDK has developed for the burgeoning WiMAX market. The NT3225SA gives allows designers to get their products to market quicker as this oscillator will fulfill the frequency control portion of their circuit." NDK America, Inc. (www.ndk.com)
