RMS Power Detector Spans 0.1 To 3.9 GHz Dec 11, 2008 4:01 PM
Model HMC714LP5E is a dual-channel root-mean-square (RMS) power detector for power measurements from 100 MHz to 3.9 GHz. Ideal for dual-channel wireless communications systems, the RMS power detector handles an input power range from -55 to +15 dBm and provides two linear-in-dB detection outputs with scaled slopes of 37 mV/dB. The detector suffers less than 0.5 dB variations of the channels over frequency and temperature. The model HMC714LP5E also provides “channel difference” output ports permitting measurement of the input signal power ratio between the two power detection channels. The detector, which operates from a +5-VDC supply, features a buffered PTAT temperature sensor output with a temperature scaling factor of 2.2 mV/°C yielding a typical output voltage of 600 mV at 0°C. It is supplied in a RoHS-compliant, 5 x 5 mm leadless SMT package and rated for operating temperatures from -40 to +85°C. Hittite Microwave Corp. (www.hittite.com)
