Spectrum Analyzers Extend to 30 GHz
Nov 25, 2008 3:18 PM

Rohde & Schwarz's R&S FSV family of spectrum analyzers has grown by two members, the model R & S FSV13 which operates to 13.6 GHz and the model R&S FSV30 which offers frequency coverage to 30 GHz. The analyzers feature high sensitivity and wide dynamic range by means of a displayed average noise level (DANL) of better than -148 dBm in a 1-Hz bandwidth to 13 GHz and better than -144 dBm to 30 GHz. The third-order intercept point is +15 dBm. These new analyzers feature high-speed sweep capabilities even with narrow measurement bandwidths.

For users from the aerospace and defense sector, the new models offer a removable hard drive and Universal Serial Bus (USB) interfaces that can be deactivated. The analyzers offer support for the company's line of power sensors for more accurate power measurements, as well as a variety of demodulation capabilities for testing signals with amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, and phase modulation. Demodulation is supported by measurement bandwidths to 40 MHz. Both models include a touch screen for ease of control.
