Teledyne Coax Switches has developed a three-state attenuated switch for applications from DC to 25 GHz. The unit's three states are operating as a through path (with low loss), operating with an attenuated path (with 20-dB attenuation), or in an open state (with a path to ground). The Series CAS-37 attenuated switch offers flat attenuation across the frequency range with through-path insertion loss of 1.1 dB or less through 25 GHz. Open-path isolation is 25 dB or more from DC to 25 GHz. The attenuated switch incorporates make-before-break RF contacts and achieves switching speed of 20 ms or less. The 50-ohm attenuated switch is supplied with SMA connectors and weighs 4 oz.
