Sep 18, 2008 3:42 PM

Compact RF module supplier Radiocrafts AS will be showing their new model RC1180-MBUS Wireless M-Bus RF module at the Metering Europe Exhibition in Amsterdam this coming September 22-24, 2008. The module, which is designed for use in automatic-meter-reading (AMR) and Smart Meter applications, is the first compact all-embedded module compliant with the Wireless M-Bus standard available in the market. It is a complete Wireless M-Bus solution for two-way communications in a module small enough to integrated into meters and gateways. The Wireless M-Bus standard (EN 13757-4:2005) specifies communications between water, gas, heat, and electric meters and is becoming widely accepted in Europe for smart metering or Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) applications. The module, which operates in the license-free 868-MHz band, measures 12.7 x 25.4 x 3.3 mm and can be delivered on tape-and-reel format for high-volume production. The module, as well as demonstration kits, are available now.
