EM test generator tests for oscillatory transient waveforms immunity Jan 23, 2004 12:00 PM Souderton, Penn. -- EM Test has introduced the model OCS500M/6 generator for testing immunity to oscillatory transient waveforms, such as ringwave, and damped oscillatory. The EM test OCS500M/6 generates ringwave pulses up to 6 kV to also comply with the ANSI/IEEE C62.41 requirements. The two damped oscillatory waves, with 100 kHz and 1 MHz frequency, require test voltages up to 2.5 kV.The damped oscillatory waves not only comply with IEC 61000-4-12 requirements, but also correspond with the requirements to test protective relays and relay systems as per ANSI/IEEE C39.70. The device also offers the capability to perform magnetic tests as per IEC 61000-4-10, using a magnetic field coil. The generator includes a coupling/decoupling network for either single or three phase and is rated for currents of 16 A or 32 A per line. It is suitable for power mains testing and for testing AC/DC supply lines and data/signal lines.
