Spectrum Analyzers Take To The Road
Nov 20, 2008 12:15 PM

The R&S FSH4 and R&S FSH7 spectrum analyzers from Rohde & Schwarz are designed for mobile use. The former operates from 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz while the latter covers 9 kHz to 8 GHz. Both are lightweight and equipped with a rechargeable battery. Including the battery, each analyzer weighs just 3 kg and provides 4.5 hours of operation on battery power. They have displayed average noise level (DANL) of -163 dBm at 2 GHz with third-order intercept of +15 dBm. The analyzers exhibit level measurement uncertainty of 1 dB to 3.6 GHz and 1.5 dB to 8 GHz. They are equipped with a high-contrast VGA color display for ease of viewing. Versions are available with built-in tracking generators as well as models with an integrated VSWR bridge for vector network analysis. Also, sensors are available for making power measurements. Windows-based software is supplied with the analyzers for recording and evaluating measurement results.
