SiTime Introduces MEMS High-Frequency Clocks
Dec 11, 2008 3:45 PM

SiTime Corp., a supplier of oscillators based on microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS) technology, has announced a pair of MEMS-based programmable clock generators, models SiT9103 and SiT9104. These multiple phase-lock-loop (PLL), multiple output timing solutions are available with frequencies to 800 MHz and 220 MHz, respectively, with frequency stability within 20 PPM. They exhibit low RMS phase jitter of only 1 ps and help circuit-board designers realize significant savings in board space. Each can be driven by independent voltage supplies of 1.8, 2.5, 2.8, or 3.3 V, and each output pair on the differential output SiT9103 can be configured to one of three signaling levels, LVPECL, LVDS or CML. They are supplied in 22-pin QFN housings measuring just 7 x 5 mm.

According to Piyush Sevalia, Vice-President of Marketing at SiTime, "The clock generator market offers a tremendous opportunity for SiTime to showcase the benefits of our MEMS-based timing solutions. The SiT9103 and SiT9104 give our customers a complete solution that minimizes product development costs and speeds new products to market."
