Stratos International has been selected by Boeing, as well as several key suppliers to Boeing, for a variety of optoelectronic, electronic and electrical interconnect components for the 787 Dreamliner passenger aircraft series. Stratos Optical Technologies will supply optical transceivers that enable cockpit video displays and graphics. While the key supplier on this section of the aircraft is Rockwell Collins, other suppliers such as Teletronics are involved.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a next-generation passenger aircraft targeting fuel efficiency, passenger safety and comfort, and state-of-the-art avionics cockpit equipment using composite materials and innovative electronics/optical signal packaging. Production began in June of this year, and the aircraft is scheduled to go into service in 2008.
